You can tell if your unit is working by the lights. The Red light indicates the unit has electricity. The Green light should cycle on and off every three minutes or so. The Green light is when the unit is sending out a signal. If these lights are not working send unit back. However, make sure the unit is not plugged into a receptacle controlled by a wall switch.
